Short information about Professor Barbara Namyslowska-Wilczynska
Prof. dr. hab. Barbara Namyslowska Wilczynska-graduate degree from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, discipline- geology at the University of Wroclaw. She received the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences, in a scientific discipline – engineering geology, mining in dn.3.05.1980 y., defending a doctoral dissertation entitled. “Quantitative analysis of spatial variability of parameters of geological sediments of the lower Zechstein (Permian) in the area of the mine Lubin”, the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, Wroclaw University of Technology. The dn. 10.10.1994 y. completed habilitation at the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection, University of Science and Technology in Krakow, based on the dissertation entitled. “The variability of copper ore deposits in Foresudetic Monocline in the light of geostatistical studies“. Resolution habilitation granting doctoral degree of Earth Sciences in the discipline of geology, dated. 10.10.1994 y. Habilitation degree was approved by the Presidium of the Central Control Commission in Warsaw, dn. 27.03.1995 y. In 30.12.2009 y. President Lech Kaczynski awarded PhD. B. Namyslowska-Wilczynska – title of Prof. Technical Sciences, handing the nomination at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, dn. 03.03.2010 y.
Basic themes of scientific research in the field:
- copper ore deposit geology, applied geology, reservoir geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, environmental protection, energy sector;
- geostatistics, (applied spatial statistics).
Prof. Barbara Namyslowska-Wilczynska deals with research problems related to modelling, estimation, forecasting and simulating (2D, 3D) of mineral resources parameters, copper ore deposits in particular. Her works are associated with a variety of applications of statistical and geostatistical methods (applied spatial statistics), including simulation techniques (conditional and in-conditional simulation), in issues relating to the geology of deposits, mining engineering, environmental engineering, environmental protection, in waste landfill research, climatology, enzymology, geodesy, as well as in the energy sector. Author of a lot of articles and research studies devoted to spatial and spatio-temporal (3D) analyses, uncertainty estimation, and variability risk analysis of selected parameters used in solving certain issues, the filtering components of variograms models of mineral deposits parameters using estimation kriging techniques. Recent studies include the development of geostatistical (2D, 3D) hydrogeochemical models of variation of underground waters quality parameters for a water intake area, of a treated water and in water supply system and as well as for models resources (2D) of Cu ore deposits, for example mine Rudna (area Lubin -Sieroszowice), including the assessment of the uncertainty estimate of the average deposits parameters and mine Sieroszowice, comprising the filtering components of variograms models of mineral deposits parameters using the kriging techniques.
She presented the results of the works in scientific conferences: national and international in the Czech Republic (1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1990, 1993, 2011), Israel (1984), Germany (1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1990, 2002, 2004, 2015), Sweden (2011), Great Britain (1990, 2012), France (1988, 2014), Spain (1997), the Netherlands (1993), Italy (2000), and also in Canada (1986), Chile (2009, 2013), Austria (2015, 2016), Australia (2017).
